The Children’s Court has two divisions:

1. Family Division

  • Protection and care of children and Department of Human Services matters
  • Intervention orders

2. Criminal Division

  • Criminal offending by children

Where are the County Courts?

The Children’s Court of Victoria sits on circuit in Bairnsdale and Sale.

A social worker from the Department of Human Services may have instigated court proceedings under the Family division of the Children’s Court if they believe you are at risk of serious harm.
