The Children’s Court has two divisions:
- Protection and care of children and Department of Human Services matters
- Intervention orders
- Criminal offending by children
Where are the Children’s Courts?
The Children’s Court sits at Morwell, Bairnsdale, Sale, Melbourne and South Gippsland. Daniel Taylor Lawyers can appear for you or your child at each of these courts. We represent Children in Criminal matters and Welfare matters, and Adults involved in DHHS proceedings.
Going to court as a child is a very daunting and it is very important you seek a lawyer as soon as possible to help you through the process.
A social worker from the Department of Human Services may have instigated court proceedings under the Family division of the Children’s Court if they believe you are at risk of serious harm.
Daniel Taylor can explain the process, your choices and help negotiate with your parents and the protection workers.
Daniel Taylor is the only accredited children’s law specialist in Gippsland.
Daniel Taylor has represented many parents and children involved in children’s matters and DHS cases. He can explain the court process to you and act on your behalf.
