Cate Reed is a dedicated and skilled lawyer at Daniel Taylor Lawyers, serving in our Bairnsdale office for the past 18 months. A graduate of Victoria University with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and First Class Honours distinction, Cate has been admitted into practice since June 2022.
Her legal career is marked by significant experiences within the Victorian government, including roles as a court registrar at both the Latrobe Valley and Melbourne Magistrates Courts, and positions at the Office of Public Prosecutions Victoria, where she coordinated depositions and provided essential legal support. Cate’s tenure at Gadens in their Commercial Litigation team focused on Retail Leasing Disputes, enhancing her prowess in handling complex commercial cases.
Cate’s approach to law is informed by her hands-on experience in various legal settings, from managing highly sensitive cases in the Specialist Sex Offence Unit to conducting legal research essential for the judiciary. Her pro-bono work at Fitzroy Community Legal Centre has grounded her in the practical realities of Family Law and Criminal Law, directly benefiting her clients.
